Abstract
In recent years, a large-scale study of cognitive abilities through a variety of methods has been performed. Today, the development of cognitive abilities is one of the leading tasks for scientists. In this regard, new psychological schemes and methods are being developed. Researchers seek to find ways to develop human intelligence and cognitive abilities. Intelligence is the aggregate mental potential of a person. It includes tools for the implementation of cognitive abilities that should be appropriately used to adapt a person to life. Intellect is formed in the process of becoming an individual in a particular society and depends on its socialization. "Everybody exhausts from the vast reservoir of the possibilities of the world all that is available to him, which corresponds to his cognitive abilities." Thanks to cognitive abilities, the functions of the human mind are not limited to intelligence, the most important role is played by intuition and, especially, thinking. Man has the ability to perceive, store and reproduce the acquired knowledge, in addition, to process it, generating new ideas and using it in certain decisions. Memory, observation, imagination and especially thinking are constantly involved throughout life. It is necessary not only in scientific activity, but also in everyday life. Human worldview is not only a system of knowledge about the surrounding world, a way of cognition, but also the result of assimilation and the formation of the relation to the environment. Every person has different level of intellect: high, average, and even low, but intelligence – is, actually, potential. Thus, in order to become a good thinker, one should not be born as a genius.
