Abstract
Cultivation hole making and seedling transportation using semi mechanical system mqy be able to increase cultivation productivity and alleviate work load of the plantation workers.Thisstutfy investigated productivity and cost of semi mechanical seedling cultivation carriedout on a dry land in Sukaraja, Warnng Kiara, Sukabutniin 2008. The oijective is tofind outproductivityand cost of semi mechanicalseedlingcultivation on a dry land. The investigation revealedthat: 1.Productivities of semi mechanical seedlingcultivation variedfrom 59. 02 to 13 3.3 3 seedling/hour with an average of 93.08 seedling/hour. 2.Productivityaverage of semi mechanical seedling cultiuation (93,08 seedlingh/ our) much higher than the manual seedlingcultiuation ( 12.3 2 seedling/hour). 3.Averagecost of semi mechani calseedling cultivation was Rp 385,-/ seedling cheaperthan that ofmanual seedlingcultivationof Rp405.84,-/ seedling. 4.Using thelocal seedling cultivation tariff of Rp 500,-/ seedling, the semi mechanical seedling gadtioation isfeasible to be utilized because of pqy backperiod= 1.63years, Netpresent Value =Rp 34, 199,291,-Internalrate of return=56.49% andB/ C ratio= 1.30.
