Abstract

Life expectancy is determined largely by the genetic, hereditary apparatus of the cell. The resulting age changes affect the course of protein biosynthesis, lead to the corresponding changes in the properties of cell mem-branes and the ability of the cell to respond to irritation. Consequently, the deviation from the norm of the pro-cesses of excitation and inhibition. The study of 5-HTTLPR gene polymorphism in individuals of two age groups was conducted: 84-104 years and 17-24 years in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Analysis of the frequencies of genotypes in the group of individuals from 84 to 104 years showed prevalence of the genotype * L / * S (48.9%), the distribution of allele frequencies revealed that the allele frequency * S is 40.0%, the frequency of the allele * L is 60, 0%. The gender distribution of the * L and * S alleles of the 5-HTTLPR gene in the elderly group and the long-lived CBD did not show statistically significant differences. Analysis of the frequencies of alleles and geno-types to the age group of 17-24 years revealed a predominance of the genotype * L / * L (50.0%). Allele * L occurs at a frequency of 67% in the total sample of the 17-24 age group. Gender differences within the age group of 17-24 years on the frequencies of genotypes and alleles were not revealed. A comparative analysis of the frequencies of alleles and genotypes did not reveal statistically significant differences between the two age groups. The results of our analysis do not allow us to make a statistically reliable conclusion on the predominance of the * L / * S gen-otype in the senile group and long-livers that we are studying, but you are a tendency to increase the share of car-rier heterozygous genotype in older groups. In this regard, it is likely that the chances of achieving longevity are increased in people with a carrier of this genotype. The data are intermediate and can change with increasing sample
