FORMATION OF THE NETWORK OF SCHOOLS FOR ETHNIC MINORITIES IN NORTH-EASTERN UKRAINE DURING THE PERIOD OF SOCIETY SOVIETIZATION

Abstract

Introduction. Investigation of the peculiarities of formation and distribution of the schools for national minorities in 20-30 years of the 20th century on the territory of North-Eastern Ukraine will help to find effective ways in solving the national issue in education and prevent possible mistakes and risks in the process of modernization of the Ukrainian Education. Purpose of the article is to find out organizational peculiarities of formation of school network for national minorities in North-Eastern Ukraine in 20-30 years of the 20th century. Results. Based on the analysis of archival and scientific sources it was concluded that construction of schools for ethnic minorities started in 20-30 years of the 20th century on the North-Eastern Ukraine. The main idea of the educational reform was establishing of the unified labor school. The dynamics of formation of a school network for national minorities during the studied period was incredible, which is proved by alternation of development periods and decline of school construction. The anti-religious struggle of the Soviet government had negative impact on the deployment of national schools, such as lack of continuity in education, and lack of funding. Originality. However, notwithstanding difficult socio-economic and political conditions by the mid-20s in North-Eastern Ukraine had appeared the school network that included schools for national minorities such as Jewish, Polish, German, Lithuanian, Tatar, and Latvian. Conclusion. Consequently, the educational reform of the Soviet government contributed to the establishment of a national school, improved school enrolment of national minorities among school-age children, and became the basis for the development of all levels of education for national minorities.
