THE PECULIARITIES OF IMPLEMENTATION OF TEACHING METHODS OF BUILDING ENGLISH LEXICAL ANDGRAMMAR COMPETENCE IN SPEAKING OF PROSPECTIVE ECONOMISTS IN INDEPENDENT WORK

Introduction. The shift of focus on the learner in language teaching created the prerequisites for introduction of innovations and promoted the role of independent work while mastering communicative competence. Successful implementation of foreign communicative competence depends on the level of acquisition of lexical and grammar competence. Purpose. The article presents the peculiarities of implementation of teaching methods of building English lexical and grammar competence in speaking of prospective economists in independent work. The teaching methods encompass competence and reflexive approaches, learning material, strategies, system of exercises designed to build lexical and grammar competence in speaking of prospective economists Methods. The content analysis of theoretical assumptions and learning techniques, exercises has been performed. Results. The subsystem of exercise and assignments designed to build lexical and grammar competence in speaking of prospective economists has been elaborated. The effectiveness of teaching methods of building lexical and grammar competence in speaking of prospective economists in independent work has been validated by application of the elaborated system of exercises in the comprehensive and methodological experiment. The experiment was carried out with the students of Economics in Lviv National University in 2015-2016 learning years. Originality. The proposed teaching methods of building English lexical and grammar competence in speaking of prospective economists in independent work and system of exercises and assignments can be applied in teaching and learning English for Professional Purposes in higher establishments of Ukraine. Conclusion. Independent work is a form of learning process that has a potential to produce successful outcomes while building lexical and grammar competence in speaking of prospective economists.
