Abstract

Introduction. Wide and active involvement of project method in the process of teaching Mathematics for pupils induces changes in the process of methodological preparation of a future Mathematics teacher, who should be aware of the genesis of this method in educational theory and practice, its theoretical, in particular, psychological and pedagogical foundations, ways of applying EIT in the process of its implementation. An important role in the system of future Mathematics teacher training is played by «Intel® Training for the Future» program, which focuses on the project method itself. Purpose. The goal of the paper is to analyze some aspects of the students' experience in using the project method in teaching Mathematics for pupils using «Intel® Training for the Future» program. Methods. Theoretical analyses of psychological and pedagogical literature on the problem were used. Results. The introduction of the elements of «Intel® Training for the Future» program is facilitated by the course of «Innovative Information Technologies in the Educational Process», which is provided by the curriculum for the 4th-year students. The course program supposes to create ICT project models in which students act as teachers and pupils at the same time. The work on the project involves the existence of a significant research or creative problem or task that needs integrated knowledge and research to be solved. The results of the project work should have a practical, theoretical and cognitive significance. During the project, students create a presentation, or a publication, or a web site acting as a teacher, through which pupils get a research task. Acting as pupils, students create a presentation, a publication, and a website through which pupils present their research results. The students create a portfolio of the project being a set of informational, didactic and methodological materials for a training project, designed with the aim of its effective organization. Originality. The provided investigation showed that there are significant challenges, gaps, and weaknesses in the practice of the forming the students' experience in using the project method in teaching Mathematics for pupils using “Intel® Training for the Future” program. Conclusion. By working on the project, the students realize the ability to apply information and communication technologies in teaching Mathematics and effective use of ICT in their further work.
