FUTURE TEACHERS’ PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE FORMATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract
Introduction. The question of the formation of professional competence is important in the aspect of the training of future teachers in higher education institutions. This is due to the change in the modern educational system in Ukraine, which aims to prepare a teacher of a new formation that will have the necessary knowledge, skills and decision-making skills, using information and communication technologies, think critically, and be competitive on the labor market. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problem of forming the professional competence of future pre-school and elementary school teachers: clarifying the essence of the concept of «professional competence», highlighting the structure of professional competence, identifying factors that influence the formation of professional competence. Methods. In order to solve the tasks and achieve the goal, a complex of general scientific methods: theoretical (analysis, comparison and generalization of psychological and pedagogical literature on the issue of professional competence of future teachers and its formation in the process of studying at a higher education institution) is used. Results. The article generalizes theoretical positions regarding the essence of the concept of «competence», «professional competence» as an important component of the training of future teachers in higher education institutions. The structural components of the professional competence of the future teacher are determined and analyzed: cognitive-informational, personal, motivational, activity. The author characterized features of formation of professional competence of future teachers. The key point in the article is the problem of determining the factors that influence on future teachers' professional competence formation in higher education institutions: from a properly organized educational environment; content of education; educational process at a higher education institution; tasks of the education sector. Originality. On the basis of scientific literature, an analysis of the concepts of «competence», «future teacher professional competence» was distinguished, effective pedagogical conditions were determined, the structure of future teacher professional competence and the factors influencing its formation were pointed out. Conclusion. Thus, the professional competence formation of future teachers in the process of studying in institutions of higher education is a long process of forming the outlook of a future teacher, which is characterized by the development of professional abilities, professionally meaningful personality traits and is the result of creative their practical professional activity. However, the issue does not exhaust all aspects of the problem; the prospect of further research is the question of determining the pedagogical conditions of future teachers' professional competence formation.
