Abstract
The article gives a description of some versions of ontological models, presented in the early Greek philosophy of nature. The comparison of conceptions about the cyclic time of the Cosmos of Anaximander, Her- aclitus and Empedocles let us understand their main intention to figure out the basic principles of the cosmic order. Their goal to find a balance between finiteness of the things and infinity of the Whole, coherence between change and exchangeability had as a result the model of cyclically existing Cosmos. The value of the metaphysi- cal intuition of pre-Socratics is its serving as a base in some modern cosmological hypothesizes
