Abstract
The article analyses the modern tendencies in education to involve in teaching process all the possible varieties of Internet resources like TED talks. The author also touches the problem of motivating different types of students based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences that was created by Dr. Howard Gardner. The example of one of TED talks by Angelica Dass “The beauty of human skin in every color” is given to illustrate how to use any material for warming up in an ESL class both for secondary/high school students and college/university students. The conclusion is made that a proficient choice of “warming up activities” might not only be interest- ing for different psychological types of students but also increase their STT
