Abstract
In the article on the basis of the analysis of historiographical materials a comprehensive analysis of the political situation of England in the XVIII century. A number of legislative acts were analyzed that limited the royal power and had a significant impact on the development of the parliamentary system. The work of the new governments, the role of the Cabinet of Ministers is highlighted. The activities of the new political figures in the political life of the country that were leaders of the Tories and Whigs are shown
