A qualitative research was carried out using the Institutional Project "Evaluation of the impact of the methodology for the development of intellectual capital in health services" between January and December 2016 in the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Medical Sciences Filial of Baracoa, as well as in Guantanamo, Baracoa, Manuel Tames, Maisí, San Antonio del Sur and El Salvador communities, with the participation of 6 researchers and 26 Project collaborators. The research allowed establishing the need for effectiveness in antimicrobial education in the population in the face of increased self-medication and antimicrobial resistance.
