Behavior of organic cytology in University Polyclinic "Hermanos Martínez Tamayo" of Baracoa

Abstract
A retrospective, cross-sectional, analytical study was carried out with the objective of informing in the behavior of organic cytology and premalignant lesions according to the Early Detection of Cervical Cancer Program at the "Hermanos Martínez Tamayo" University Polyclinic in January-December 2016. The universe consisted of 2 568 women who underwent cytology according to non-use in organic cytology, alterations according to age groups and the existence of materials and equipment for performing cytologies in the workplace in the study period. Compliance with smears for new cases and re-examination is met in new cases. Useful cytologies predominated, whereas in the patients aged 30-34 years, altered cytologies predominated, at the same age, combinations of HPV and dysplasias, too. Prevalence of non-useful cytology in the highest percent of cases together with premalignant lesions followed by CIN I and HPV.
