The uptake of iodine I-131 as a useful tool in the study of thyroid function

Abstract
A study was performed at the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Agostinho Neto "Guantanamo in 2013 with the aim of assessing in the shortest time possible results of the up taking of radioactive iodine (I-131), finding that, this test is effective in the early diagnosis of thyroid function and its advantage early diagnosis allows impose treatment in the shortest possible time helping to raise the quality of life of these patients. Conclusions and recommendations are issued.
