Inclusive education: educational service specialist for students with intellectual disabilities

Abstract

The inclusion in the learning process is still a challenge for everyone - student, family, school and society. The existence of social barriers such as prejudice makes us reflect on humanization and accessibility for people with disabilities, making it possible to overcome difficulties and an effective social integration. For this, the school needs to create educational activities aimed at human development. The work refers to the study of a real case of a student with intellectual disabilities, attending the 4th grade of the Youth and Adult Education of the City School Francisco de Souza Briglia in the year 2014. It is a descriptive research with a focus qualitative. Tools for data collection were: semi-structured interview with the family of the student and teachers; direct observation in school and registration through the field diary. In this research, it was found that it presents a marked difficulty reading, reading comprehension, but also with respect to the mathematical codes so difficult, their school performance. It is the Educational Service Specialist (ESA) one facing service to meet the needs of students with disabilities, thereby improving their inclusion in schools was drawn up an ESA plan for the student, providing teaching strategies of inclusion for the development of learning the same. The main authors that supports all the research are Selma Ines Campbell, Maria Tereza Mantoan and the Laws of inclusive education and disabled person.
