Abstract

This article describes a research carried out in five municipalities of the Brejo Paraibano that had as objective to analyze the continuous formation of teachers and the conditions of work in the infantile education. It is descriptive and exploratory, with a qualitative-quantitative approach, and the data collection is based on a questionnaire with closed questions. The information was analyzed under the theoretical-methodological framework. The results show that the continuous training courses are carried out in a decontextualized way of the reality and the need of the teachers, they show only the technical aspects of the training. The professionals who work in the day-care centers are all women, most are not insolvent, with employment contract temporary contract, and an extensive working day, realizing a meager minimum wage. Therefore, there is a contradiction between legal discourses, public practices for early childhood education and is teacher training, demonstrating the precariousness of working conditions in day care centers.
