Abstract
The study sought to investigate how mathematics was being taught in the schools of the municipality, after conducting a quasi-experimental research in a 1st year class of Sinop / MT High School as a general objective to present some learning possibilities when using manipulable materials in the teaching of polyhedra platonic Thus, the data collected were described in a field diary all observations and interviews conducted, as well as, evaluative activities of (Pre-test and Post-test). Through the applied workshop, it was verified the importance of using concrete materials such as straws, scissors and nylon lines for the preparation of platonic polyhedra of the skeleton type, and cardboard or paperboard, ruler and compass for the construction of Platonic polyhedrons shell type. However, the relevance of the qualification of teachers as facilitators in the construction of new knowledge for the teaching-learning process of the student can also be perceived.
