Abstract
The study sought to know the process of inclusion of children and adolescents with disabilities in regular education, if the school offered them access to inclusive education. It is well known that in the historical context the disabled have always been excluded. However, small changes have been noticed. Today, deficiency is understood no more as an abnormality or something exclusively individual, but, social. Current days there are laws to support inclusion, for believing in a school where respect for differences prevails; however, there are still obstacles to the enforcement of laws that protect students with disabilities. However, it was possible to analyze the contributions of the social worker to education policy and guarantee the rights of students with disabilities. The study itself punctuates the reality of inclusion in schools, establishing a parallel with the current legislation
