Abstract
This study sought to know the pedagogical practice of health education of the nurses of the "Family Health Units" in the city of Maceió, AL- Brazil. The research had the quantitative approach of the exploratory, descriptive type. The technique used to collect the data to the interview and the structured questionnaire. Results show that nurses permeating a pedagogical practice in the progressive and traditional lines have conducted the practice of health education. However, the conclusion was that Nurses, for the most part, develop a pedagogical practice of health education based on the didactic-pedagogical principle of dialogue and emancipation, but also associated with a traditional pedagogical practice and techniques.
