Abstract

The doctoral research sought to ascertain the influences that the political times had on the curriculum and the didactic books, aiming at the analysis of these influences as well as the change of the curriculum and the textbook. The method used was qualitative and historical, from the descriptive type to the longitudinal model, which sought to describe and preserve past events, going through several historical moments, and having the didactic book as object of study. Data collection was used from 1970 to 1990 in the State Schools "Alfredo Jose da Silva" and "Júlio Muller" referring to the 5th and 6th years of Elementary and 1st year of Secondary Education in the city of Barra do Bugres in the State of Mato Grosso-Brazil. However, it was evidenced that the political transformations influenced the curriculum and textbooks in the decades of 1970 to 1990, that every moment has its history that must be known and understood.
