Abstract
The article is focused on the reasons of aggravation of contradictions between Russia and Western countries based on the example of so-called “The Skripal case”. Based on the analysis of the unfolding situation one can conclude that the Salisbury incident turned from a problem of interrelations between Russia and Great Britain into a global scandal. For the avoidance of further escalation, both parties must act strictly within the international law and in accordance with the rules of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons during the investigation of “The Skripal case”
