Abstract
Growing demand for higher technology and resourceful environment have given rise to cloud computing environment which is highly distributed in nature and provides on demand on the fly services. Open nature and provisioning of services in virtualized fashion make cloud computing environment vulnerable to many kinds of attacks. In this paper, we have presented a taxonomy enlisting various security issues of cloud environments, especially at the virtualization layer. Along with a brief review of probable attacks to cloud virtualization layer and their existing handling approaches, we have tried to explore the areas that require more focus for tightening cloud virtualization security.
