Abstract
Magnesium alloy which contains 95.32% magnesium by weight and 2.99% aluminium by weight tested with varying strain rates values from 0.0001 to 0.1 sec -1 at room temperature condition. Yield strength varying from 96.86 MPa to 184 MPa and its ductility is varying from 21.21 to 29.88 %. It is also analysed that ultimate strength have maximum of 415.36 MPa for sample tested at strain rate 0.01sec -1 and minimum ultimate strength of 391.66 MPa for the sample tested at strain rate of 0.0001sec -1 . Optical images of those all four samples are appended in this research work for the gauge section of tested samples. It is also found that if strain rate increases the grain's nature get changed from coarser grains for strain rates 0.1 sec -1 to fine for strain rates 0.0001sec -1 and this results change in ductile behaviour of metal from higher to lower with change in strain rate from 0.1 to 0.0001 sec -1 .
