Abstract
It is the responsibility of the industries and businesses to contribute towards economic, social and environmental development that creates a positive impact on society. The concept of corporate social responsibility revolves around that fact the corporations need to focus beyond earning just profits. The term became popular in the 1960's and now is the formidable part of business operations. This research article is designed to deliberate on the initiatives that are taken by Industrial Energy Limited in Kalinga Nagar Industrial Zone, Odisha. The study provides a holistic assessment pertaining to the mining industrial zone. It has vividly introspected into the activities of community relations in the operational area, contributing to the welfare of the stakeholders. The study has dealt into the contemporaneous initiatives on education relating to girl child education, healthcare through initiatives benefiting women, livelihood, and employability, nurturing the shareholders and stakeholders in the community, and focus on infrastructure development and for holistic sustainable development of the ecology. This empirical case study is an effort to analyze the mechanism of community relations of a company for ensuring overall social development and value co-creation.
