Abstract

In the lexicon of corporate literature and in the present business scenario, the words “Agility' and ‘Volatility' have assumed a high level of interest and strategic importance. The complexities of volatility and unpredictability of business trends have touched all business areas irrespective of scale and size in the national and international arena. It has made it strategic imperative for any organization to act on war footing basis to stay ahead in the competitive curve in a volatile global business environment. Therefore, transformation is critical from a huge organization structure like a prehistoric animal ‘Dinosaur' to lean and agile organization characterized as 'Jaguar'. It is occupying top most priority in CEO's agenda. Therefore, this article stems from the author's curiosity rather inquisitiveness to explore and understand the ever increasing need of transforming, building and driving agility in a futuristic or forward looking corporation to address and meet the challenges and opportunities emanating from volatile business environment . Author endeavored to anchor the understanding of agility by deconstructing various elements and delved into critically important a reason building agility quotient of an organization, by transforming cultural shift and driving the change gear of an organization as reflected in applied business case and research input.
