Abstract
The directions of improvement of educational technologies to ensure the educational process of students at the department of oncology have been presented. The emphasis was made on the practical com-ponent, which contributes to the intensification and opti-mization of their training, increases the productivity of classes, activates students' cognitive activity, and makes classes more accessible and interesting. The individual approach allows each student significantly to improve the knowledge of the material and improve the efficiency of mastering skills with regular analysis and discussion with the teacher of clinical cases of cancer patients. Non-standard approaches to the traditional method of teaching and the psychological and pedagogical foundations of an individual, student-centered approach to students make it possible to evaluate more effectively the knowledge acquired by students. The practical component is one of the leading components of effective pedagogical work with students in the discipline "Oncology". Improving the practical skills of working with patients with the obligatory follow-up discussion of the results is of paramount importance. In order to further improve the effectiveness of learning and to master more effectively the material while conducting classes with students it is necessary to stimulate the versatile work of students associated with the assimi-lation of screening methods for malignant diseases, early diagnosis and principles of oncology alertness. The oral questioning of students is extremely important, during which they learn to express their thoughts, think, use medical terminology correctly. On the example of analysis of the complete diagnostic search algorithm for a particular patient, the student has the opportunity to reproduce all stages from the establishment of the previous diagnosis of the disease to the treatment. An important part in organizing the training with students is the ability to get them interested in practical work and to understand how important and valuable is the adequate collection of diagnostic information and competent development of a patient survey plan. One should remember that a patient can have two and even several synchronous or metachronous tumor processes at different stages of development. The number of such patients is increasing; this is due to the success in tumors treating, increase of the average life expectancy and increase of the cancer incidence. The emergence of new methods of diagnosis and treatment, modern international standards and infor-mation technologies, the integration of precise sciences in medicine dictate the need for a comprehensive develop-ment of specialists who have a creative approach to the solution of the problems of practical medicine. The intro-duction of innovative technologies into the learning pro-cess with an emphasis on the practical component con-tributes to the intensification, optimization of the educa-tional process, increases productivity of classes, activates the educational, and cognitive activity of students, makes classes more accessible and interesting.
