Abstract
Modern world tendencies are characterized by increase of a natural gas usage scale. Today we are at the turn of sharp increase of interest to the liquefied natural gas (LNG), as to the “mobile” energy source having all ecological and economic advantages. In accordance with investment offers of “Gazprom” OJSC it were developed the following schemes of use of LNG: gasification of 362 municipalities; use of LNG as reserve fuel by industrial enterprises in 15 regions; change the fuel of motor transport in 68 regions to a gas fuel. However use of LNG is connected with extremely high danger of fire and explosion in case of emergency situations. One of serious problems of ensuring of fire safety of production objects using LNG is a high thermal radiation arising from burning natural gas. Where density of thermal radiation of LNG flame can reach 220 kWm2 . As protection against thermal radiation of LNG flame authors offer the innovative technology of weakening of heat flows by means of the special cladding structure — heat-reflecting water-film shield. Ability to weaken the heat flow is provided by dispersion of water by special nozzles in intergreed space. Weakening of thermal stream is achieved due to the thermophysical effects and optical phenomena. Ability of shields to effectively weaken the powerful heat flows of burning LNG was investigated in a series of large-scale experimental researches which were conducted on the territory of the proving ground of the Orenburg branch of VNIIPO FSBI of Emercom of RF in 2011.
