Abstract
The paper analyzes the process of implementation of foreign policy by the founding states of the European Union (and states that have a significant influence on the formation of such a policy) in the Middle East. The work identifies the problems and shortcomings in the system of foreign policy interaction of the European Union and the countries of the Middle East and forms a list of recommendations on possible ways of overcoming crisis situations in the region and on the improvement of the corresponding tools within the EU. An analysis of the foreign policy activities of the founding states of the European Union and the states that have a significant influence on the formation of such a policy (United Kingdom) has been carried out. The crisis and overall depressive nature of the region have been studied, further proving the thesis that such nature is both a cause and a consequence of the corresponding foreign policy activities not only of the EU member states but also other countries. The paper substantiates the necessity of adapting European Union legislation to new problems arising from the implementation of inconsistent and unfocused policies in the region (problems of migration, combating international terrorism, etc.).
