Abstract
Groundwater from the groundwater tables of the Souss-Massa Basin is currently largely used for agriculture and drinking water supply for a large part of the rural population. To highlight a potential negative impact of the waters of Souss-Massa, mainly polluted by liquid discharges from the cities of this basin (industry, sanitation...) and by fertilizers on the waters of this alluvial groundwater, this study considered making an evolution of the physico-chemical and bacteriological quality of the groundwater of this groundwater between 1989 and 2010, a database of analyses of a number of water pollution indicator parameters (electrical conductivity, faecal coliforms, ammonium, nitrates, chlorides) is developed annually by ABHSM, and their interpretation has revealed that the quality of Souss groundwater is good and that of Shtuka and Tiznit groundwater is of average quality.
