Abstract
Waste pollution is evident in both rural and urban areas, in a city like Bogotá is a problem of major impact, where not only the volume of waste in the streets is concerned, but on several occasions, problems have arisen with regard to the waste collection system, which affects public health and influences economic and social activities around the area. Good waste management allows for cleaner air, a city without waste on the streets, encourages recycling, generates citizen awareness and, in addition, promotes job creation. Image recognition is used to determine the color of the bag and a neural network is developed to identify the type of residue and the amount of it in terms of volume
