Abstract
In this study the reliability and validity analysis of “The Others Centered Externality Scale” and the data about its development are presented. This scale aims to measure the extent to which people make their self-esteem through others and the tendency to evaluate themselves through other people rather than through ideal. Two main applications were carried out in the study except the two pretests. The data of the first study on 362 people over the age of 16 were subjected to factor analysis and as a result a 12-item four-factored scale structure was obtained. Based on the confirmatory factor analysis, the following fit scores were obtained X2 /df = 2.55, RMSEA= 0.076, NFI = 0.93, NNFI = 0.94, RFI = .95, CFI = 0.95, RMR = 0.068, SRMR = 0.056, GFI = 0.93 ve AGFI = 0.89. The reliability coefficient (Cronbach's Alpha) of the scale was .80.
