Project activity as a pedagogical condition of the project competence formation in future specialists in information, library and archival service

Abstract
The article deals with the formation of practice-oriented professional competences in future specialists in information, library and archival service, in particular the formation of the project competence as a separate component of their professional competence. It is stressed that outlining the ways to solve the defined problem is a necessary precondition of training specialists who could be competitive in the labour market under the present-day conditions. In the author's opinion, the project competence formation in future specialists in information, library and archival service is a challenging integrated process directed at the recognition of motives and needs in the effective use of the project activity means in the professional sphere. The concept of the project activity is analyzed through the execution of projects in the information and library activity. The article singles out effective pedagogical conditions of the project competence formation in future specialists in information, library and archival service: ensuring positive motivation in obtaining the future profession; developing the content of the disciplines in the course of professional training; use of information-communication technologies; acquiring practical experience in the execution of the project activity to perform certain duties in the future professional sphere; promoting reflective position of future specialists at all the stages of the project competence development; formation of personal and professional qualities of the future specialist's personality. The author of the article accentuates and theoretically justifies the project activity as one of the priority pedagogical conditions of the project competence formation in future specialists in information, library and archival service in the course of professional training. It is especially emphasized that ensuring this pedagogical condition makes it possible for a student to master a system of methods which will let him/her choose such tools in the professional activity that will guarantee the most appropriate and effective solution of a certain practical problem. The author pays attention to the fact that the project competence of specialists in information, library and archival service is determined by the four components: value-motivational (axiological), knowledge-content (cognitive), technological (activity-practical) and reflective-estimative. Effectiveness of the project activity in the course of the project competence formation in future specialists in information, library and archival service is proved by considering its technological component, since students must acquire abilities and skills to practically realize principles and approaches, to use ways and methods of the execution of projects in future professional activity. The author of the article stresses that the project activity is a factor of forming socially meaningful abilities and skills which will create the basis for further professional self-realization of future specialists and will help them realize the necessity for lifelong learning.
