Theoretical operationalization of the concept «constructive conflict» of personality

Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the methodological bases of the procedure of theoretical operationalization of the concept of «constructive conflict» of the individual and to the identification of its important empirical indicators, which are understandable for observation and measurement. The operationalization of the concept of «constructive conflict» is aimed to find empirical evidence of the existence of this phrase and the consistent filling of its theoretical content and essence. It is revealed that conflict is an essential property of the personality, which is in a kind of emotional attraction to the periodic dramatization of relationships and the strengthening of interpersonal tension. Conflict like any social phenomenon, should be viewed through the prism of a dichotomous, polar character. In relation to conflict, we can distinguish two poles: on the one hand, it is a destructive conflict, and on the other, it is a constructive conflict. Numerous studies related to conflict problems «feed» mainly internal prerequisites and manifestations of destructive conflict. It is found that there is still no single research approach to the interpretation of the concept of «constructive conflict», which does not have clear boundaries and definitions. It is advisable to start the movement along the line of operationalization of the phenomenon with methodology, which not only realizes its own explanatory potential with a specific theory, but also limits thinking of the researcher with the initial axiomatics. The methodological basis for defining such a hypothetical construct as «constructive conflict» is the concept of «conflict». An essential element of operationalization of «constructive conflict» concept is the emphasis on the positive, pragmatic aspect of conflict, which promotes social courage, the ability to confidently and reasonably resolve contradictions. A profound analysis of definitions that have semantic similarity has greatly broadened the horizons for understanding, and hence the clear operationalization of the concept of «constructive conflict». The analysis made it possible to find out the key aspects of the study of the problem of structural conflict. Operationalization of the concept of «constructive conflict» made it possible to understand it as an integrative ability of the individual to comprehensively categorize the subject of the conflict and reflect its consequences. «Constructive conflict» concept operationalization generates new meanings in the conflict situation, transforms any contradiction towards positive direction and contextually defines effective behavior strategy.
