Abstract
The phenomenon of professional well-being has long been the subject of research by psychologists from various scientific schools and fields. In this article, the authors aim to provide a concise analysis and to characterize the nature and role of professional well-being in the life of a coach. It is substantiated the conclusion that until now there is no adequate theoretical base for the study of professional well-being in the specialized literature. Therefore, the paper offers a hypothetical construct of its understanding. The main behavioral patterns of professional well-being include: satisfaction with coaching activities; positive attitude towards oneself (satisfaction with oneself); satisfaction with the professional environment; ability to overcome tendencies that deform the personality; emotional equilibrium; physical condition. Each person is endowed with a certain potential of activity, which is manifested in self-realization. It has been found that self-realization implies a balanced and harmonious development of the individual through the use of adequate efforts aimed at revealing genetic, individual and subjective characteristics. Coach self-actualization criteria reflect satisfaction with sports-pedagogical activity. Satisfaction contributes to the mental health of the trainer, which in turn depends on the level of harassment and, accordingly, the quality of their decisions. There are two essential parameters of satisfaction with sports and pedagogical activity. First one, is a satisfaction as an emotional reaction to the work performed. Second one, is a satisfaction as a correspondence of work results with expectations of the coach. It is stated that satisfaction with sports-pedagogical activity depends on the action of objective and subjective factors: content of work, interest in it; remuneration; promotion and prospects; opportunities for direct involvement of the coach in decision making; psychological climate; mode of work and workload. There is a close relationship between the satisfaction that a coach receives from work and overall life satisfaction. A powerful behavioral pattern of professional well-being is the ability to withstand trends that distort one's personality. The disharmonious changes in personality structure that occur in people with passionate activities can be avoided by means of the developed reflection and the ability to objectively evaluate their own personality. Emotional equilibrium, as an important behavioral pattern, is formed by the emergence and attenuation of positive and negative emotional bonds. On the basis of their analysis it is possible to predict the course of professional health. Many modern sports professionals have been found to have a rather negligent attitude towards themselves and their health. They start to care towards themselves only when there are clear problems. Therefore, the very topical area of research and applied development in terms of professional well-being is the formation of a proactive attitude of a person to recreational activities as an instrumental value setting of the individual.
