Abstract
Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky) (1877–1961), confessor, archbishop of Simferopol and Crimean, saint. Archbishop Luke (in the world Valentin Feliksovich Voino-Yasenetsky) was born on April 27, 1877 in Kerch, in the family of a pharmacist. His father was Catholic, his mother was Orthodox. According to the laws of the Rus- sian Empire, children in such families were to be raised in the Orthodox faith. He was the third of five children [1]. In 1903 he graduated with honors from the university. Despite the persuasion of friends to do science, he announced his desire all his life to be a "peasant", a Zemstvo doctor, to help poor people
