Abstract
This research aims at getting acquainted with the intellectual position in the plays of Saad-Allah Wannous, as well as with the mechanism of his involvement in criticizing authority in his theatre. The timeline this research covers extends from 1968 to 1980. Three plays are deliberately chosen and they are: "The Tragedy of the Poor Molasses Salesman", "An Evening with Abu-Khalil Al-Qabani", and "The King is the King". This research would benefit those who are related to theatrical art such as: playwrights, directors, actors, and critics, as it would offer help to academic establishments concerned with theatre.
