Abstract
This article discusses one of the ways to develop students cognitive activity in the process of solving problems. The methodological basis of the research is the theory of step-by-step formation of mental actions and concepts, which most fully implements the activity approach to learning, the concept of activity, its components and relationships between them. The content of the developed subjectively creative educational tasks serves as a means of developing cognitive activity. The author describes the composition of actions for the development and solution of such tasks, which allowed for step-by-step control of the learning process, education of students, cognitive interest and independence
