Abstract
Since independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the transition to a democratic society and mar- ket economy, significant progress has been made in the higher education system of the country. This paper ana- lyzes a number of researches of foreign and domestics scientists on Kazakhstan system of education, compares and contrasts it with the Soviet system and within the post-Soviet countries.
