History of the gift contract development as an institution of civil law

The article is devoted to the legal definition of a gift agreement in the system of civil transactions. The purpose of the study is to determine the legal characteristics of the gift agreement and identify problems of implementation using the method of comparative legal analysis. The article describes the history of legal regulation of the gift contract, a comparative analysis of the formation and development of the named institution at various stages of development, and conclusions are made based on the results of the study.
