Abstract
The main of the present work is to study the preparation of CuO nanoparticles (NPs) and thermo mechanical properties of the CuO based nanocomposite experimentally. In this study, CuO NPs were synthesized by aqueous precipitation method and morphology of the NPs was studied using FESEM. LLDPE and glass microsphere were considered to be the base material for the preparation of the nano based polymer composites. In order to fabricate the nano based polymer composites, CuO NPs with 1.0wt% were embedded in the base material. Nanocomposite has proved improved thermal stability rather than the pure composite. The test results obtained from the TG study reveal that an addition of CuO NPs had acted as the thermal retardant and CuO NPs had delayed thermal degradation of the nanocomposites. The improved mechanical properties have been observed in nanocomposite from tensile and compression tests.
