Ready for an army psychologist to professional activities in the armed forces of Ukraine

Abstract

The article analyzes the problem of forming a military psychologist's readiness for professional activity in the Armed Forces of Ukraine; the content of the concepts of «military psychologist's readiness for professional activity» is specified in the context of the outlined problem. It is established that the concept of «military psychologist's readiness for professional activity» in the first place, is a prerequisite for effective performance of combat service. It is determined that the military psychologist's readiness for professional activity should be defined as a system of knowledge, practical skills and professionally significant skills, psychological properties and personal abilities, which determine the motivation for self-development and self-realization of the individual in the framework of his professional activity. It was found that in military universities in the training of future psychologists, much attention is paid to the mastery of military-professional subjects (the ability to work with modern weapons and tactics of combat), which are taught in parallel with professional. It is established that the training of future military psychologists should be based on the following components: personal, theoretical, practical. It is specified that the psychological support of professional activity of servicemen means a set of measures aimed at maintaining professional suitability, psychological readiness for professional activity and resistance to the stressors of the service and combat environment. It is outlined that psychological support consists of two components: psychological support; psychological assistance. It was found that among the subjects of psychological support a special role belongs to the officers of the military unit, which, due to its official powers and psychological competence, is able to consciously and purposefully implement measures to improve the psychological readiness of subordinate personnel and promote effective performance of tasks by them. It is substantiated that the fundamental criteria for the training of future military psychologists at the WIPO should be: personal, cognitive, practical and reflective.
