TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION: ITS ROLE AND PROSPECTS

A very remarkable trend in the field of education during the four decades in the advanced countries has been tremendous use of educational technology in making education more productive, relating it to the individual, providing instruction on more scientific bases, making learning more powerful and lasting, making up the cultural handicaps of certain categories of pupils and for extending educational services in the remote areas. Hence an attempt has been made to analyze the role of educational technology and its prospects. This paper is primarily empirical as well as analytical in nature.
