Abstract
The Indian economy largely depends on agriculture products. The diverse agroclimatic conditions in the country are suitable for the agro-based industries which mainly depend on agricultural produce as their raw materials. Rapid growth of industrialization and literacy brings rapid growth and changes in the demand pattern which is leading to new opportunities for the market. Indian, on an average spends nearly 50 percent of household expenditure only on food products. The agro-based food processing industries is a very promising industry as it has good scope for the young entrepreneurs and the farms worker with good support for growth by the Government of India. However, there are lots of constraints which need to be address which may have huge impact on the growth of the agro-based processing industries.
