Abstract
This research presents a study on drinking water quality, which involved analyses of physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of drinking water samples from different drinking water source. The drinking water sources examined included well and in containers used to store the water. Using checklists to survey the environment of well. A cross-sectional survey was used to collect data. Descriptive statistics including percentage and average were used for analysis. The revealed that the biological parameters of water sources did not meet the permissible World Health Organization (WHO) levels. The environment around the well was at risk from bacteria and most of water containers were at risk from fecal coliform bacteria due to the presence of livestock, garbage, and waste water around the well. It was recommended that drinking water sources for domestic use should be protected from pollution sources.
