Molla Cīven was accepted as one of the most significant scholars of the time he lived in, and he was born in 1638 in Lucknow (Lekvev) which is the capital of the city called Uttar Pradesh in today's India. It is the second biggest city in India after Delhi. He is mostly known for his works in the fields of Fiqh and Uṣūl al-fiqh. The work called Al-Tafseerātu-l-Ahmadiyyah fī Bayāni-l Āyāti-l Shar'iyyah is one of the substantial works of him which came until today, and it is an exegesis of “legal verses” (āyāt al-aḥkām). It reflects the Hanefite Uṣūl tradition to a large extent. In this study, we are going to introduce this work of Molla Cîven.
