Abstract
Tkibuli is one of the beautiful towns of Imereti region and is an administrative-territorial center of Tkibuli municipality. The Tkibuli municipality includes the historic Okruba. The municipality operates 347 enterprises. The core of the coal mining industry. Most of the employed are self-employed categories, and work in family farms are low oriented to meet food requirements and not to produce produce products. Underdeveloped farming and low level of modernization of agriculture, the region is an important factor in poverty growth in the region. The vast majority of the population is in heavy socio-economic conditions. The population in the municipality decreases catastrophically. In 2002 - 2014 it was reduced by 32% at the expense of birth rate and migration. The population of the municipality is demographic aging (27% pensioners). The number of socially vulnerable people has increased (41.2% is registered in the socially vulnerable population.
Based on existing problems, proper municipality development should be started. In order to increase economic potential and reduce unemployment, it is necessary to restore and develop traditional sectors (breeding, breeding, breeding, beekeeping). It is also a great potential for tourism development in the municipality.
