Abstract
The major issues in Photovoltaic systems cost efficiency and efficiency of the system, this paper identifies these major issues. The three port DC-DC converter designed for the photovoltaic system achieves and identifies high step ratio, maximum power point tracking (MPPT), galvanic isolation and different operating modes for various applications. Photovoltaic systems have a major difficulty in making the system isolated from both input and output system so that any fault occurring in the input or output side will not affect the overall working of the system. In order to maintain this condition, we need to provide energy storage and a charging unit to reduce the system becoming bulkier, the number of switches and the size of filters. This paper investigates the various techniques in designing a converter suitable for photovoltaic systems. The outputs of different converter systems are compared in various domains such as system efficiency, size, isolation and cost. The promising simulation results obtained are presented here.
