The purpose of this article is to analyze the influence of emotions on the means of expression, to consider the most characteristic features of obscene vocabulary from the point of view of semiotics. Emotions have a direct effect on the speech behavior of the individual, and at the moment of affect, words and expressions that people seek to avoid in everyday situations appear in speech, this is due to such feature of invectives as their ability to relieve emotional stress. The article provides examples from fiction that demonstrate this situation.
