Abstract
The field of automation expands its reach where-ever possible as new inventions and discoveries take place all around the world. The advent of Wireless Sensor Networks boosts the rate at which the automation is taking over the traditional methods. The End of Train Telemetry technology is the Real Time Parameters tracking and monitoring system, which enables crew for easier management and safety. The Vehicle Integrity system monitors the completeness of the entire rail wagons in operation. This system employs Radio Frequency and Wireless Fidelity communications for transfer of data and commands between the units at both front and rear end of the train. The paper focuses on the improvisation of the system for safe, secure and reliable operation of the trains and aims to provide practical ways to engage the recent technological versions from fields like Communication, Sensors and to integrate them.
