Abstract
The article analyzes the legitimate restriction of freedom of expression in the time of world globalization. The legal grounds for restriction of the right to freedom of expression, which the European Court of Human Rights uses in its decisions, are presented. The general description of the concept and content of such a restriction is provided. Also the basic criteria for legitimate limiting the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and the conditions for their application are determined, which is set by the ECtHR's case law.
