Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine job stress and its impact on job satisfaction among the nursing personnel in private hospitals. Survey based instrument was used to gather the responses from the nurses working in leading hospitals having more 300 beds in Tiruchirappalli district. 210 respondents participated in this survey. Multiple regression analysis revealed that some independent variables concerned with job stress, burnouts and job satisfaction are significant in explaining the level of overall job satisfaction of nursing personnel. This study is limited to only hospitals and the results. The results may not be applicable to other business organizations.
